Installing Bathroom Fan

So I want to install a bathroom fan in my already finished basement bathroom. The only thing is that the floor joists are running perpendicular to the shortest route (about 4' of run). Meaning I'll have to drill 4-1/8" diamater through my 2x8 floor joists.

Coincidentally, the upstairs bathroom is directly above my downstairs bathrrom as well.

Would there be any problem drilling this size hole in about 4-5' worth of floor joists?

How will I vent it if I'm not able to drill through these joists? The only other route is about 15' and this runs parallel to the joists.

Don't even think about drilling a hole that size in 2x8 joists. Run it the long way, and don't use cheap flex ducting. Maybe consider a higher capacity fan.

Can you run it below the joists and box it in using a bulkhead?
Or relocate it , it does not have to be center of the bathroom.
I have put them in the wall in the corner above the shower head as well.

Why do you have two separate threads going about this problem??
