Ideas for Temporary half wall type partition with gate.

Would like any ideas for a temporary half wall or partition to keep cats separated from remainder of house. Cats are older and most likely would not climb/jump higher than 4 ft. Need to do this in between a dining room and florida room. The florida room is an add on so the opening was made from the original exterior block wall and is a 4" drop from the dining room. The floor of both rooms is tile. Would need a half door/gate also attached.
My thoughts are a regular built half wall, 2 x 4's with sheetrock and a post (at the gate/half wall connection) from the floor to the top of the entry for support and with a gate. Trying to minimize attachments to both sides and top and eliminate any attachments to the tile. Any and all ideas are welcome. Thanks!

Len,
Here's some pics of a portable, knock-down cat condo. This fellow breeds a certain type of high dollar cat, and needed something to keep the male separate from the females at different times of the year. The inside is covered with linoleum with the corners caulked. The outside was T-111 which ended up getting painted. The upper portion with the open studding ended up getting a green nylon mesh around it. I made a scaled down storm door with a spring loaded closure. The four walls screw together and also screw to the floor. It had wheels on it to make it mobile.
