How to remove window sill?

I don't think this needs to be accessed from outside the house.
It seems like some kind of aluminum edges.
I want to remove it and replace with a thin one made the same as the countertop material. We will do some trim work around the window but want to keep the damage to minimum.

why not simply cover that one?
windows are usually attached from the outside. It would be easier to simply cover that sill on the inside.

I don't know. I suppose a thin veneer would work, are countertop fabricators able to come up with a piece like that without charging too much?

I was able to remove the one in the kitchen but it was done with the formica countertop instead of this material

I suppose I should take off the quarter round there to see how thick I could go.

Looks like a piece of flashing that's meant for something else. Remove the 1/4 round, in the middle slip a chisel under the part that hangs down and pry up. No turning back on this, you are going to ruin that flashing. My best quess would be that it's caulked underneath.

yea, my whole house window with this same material.

Assuming you mean you will trim the window with jambs and casing:

I would remove all the quarter round (:censored:one of my pet peeves is this stuff used for inappropriate trim anyway), and carefully clean off any old caulking lines left on the window. Then fabricate a new sill from your chosen material and install it on top of the existing sill. Don't forget to leave the horns on the ends for the vertical casing to sit on. Fabricate and install the jambs, then trim with casing. The apron under the sill will hide the old sill. If the old caulking does not cleanup well enough, add a few shims behind the jambs to hide them.
