Default How to Polish edge of Marble ?

Am going to install marble countertop. Can I polish the rough edge of the block (approximately 1" thick) and if so, with what materials?

a few points.

take your time

use water whenever possible. It extends the life of the tools and helps to produce a better finish (obviously do not get into a situation where you are going to electrocute yourself.

use each level of grit long enough to remove all the scratches/grinding marks from the previous level of work.

Before you jump in. Read a lot and watch more vids. It is not all that hard to do but if you mess up a big ol' chunk of marble because you got into a hurry, you will regret it.

how about some before and after pics? This is one area we get a few inquiries about but I haven't seen anybody's before and after pics.
