How do I do this doorway???

Situation is that I framed in the back of my garage for a home office. The doorway goes from wood frame with new door in it to cinderblock to framing for office. To make it more difficult, I have the return air duct/soffit going across the opening. It is about 10" deep. I was thinking about getting 10" pine and building a casing like a door and nailing it in. Thoughts?

And you know that this door must be a fire door, which this one does not appear to be.

I'd suggest wrapping the door way with sheetrock, or in this case, a mold/mildew rated type. It can be glued to the CMU areas.

Bob...it doesn't need to be fire as it's going from living space to living space. The new wall I put up will have the fire door installed.

Update: Passed framing inspection with flying colors today...need 90 minute fire door...not 20. Inspector was wrong.
