I am trying to match a ceiling texture. I am fairly good at other styles, but I've never seen one like this. I've played a little with watered down mud and plastic, but nothing comes close enough. If anyone knows how this is done, an explanation would be appreciated. Attached is a picture. The ridges are 1/16 to 3/16 high and in a random pattern. It is on a ceiling and has been spread on and given this look.

Reason: more information
It appears to have been rolled with thinned joint compound and some sort of brush pulled through it, maybe even a paint brush?? That would be my best guess. Kind of a small picture to tell for sure.....
