Help with insulation

We are building a kitchen on the porch, you know taking down walls making bigger kitchen. I need to know if I put plastic in the inside of the wall that is a outside wall, also do I do this on the outside the wall that we have to put siding on? Thanks

Nope. You'll end up trapping moisture in the double barrier. All the new data points to a vapor barrier on the warm side of a wall (the interior) only.

Just use tyvec or felt (tar paper) on the exterior, they are both water resistant but allow vapor to pass. So after installing your sheathing, staple or button cap your tyvec or tar paper. If water gets in the wall, you need this breath-ability to prevent mold.

Use minimum 6mil wrap on the interior (between studs and drywall) and use seaming tape any seams or breaks. Staple it up and you're good to go. This goes for the ceiling as well (assuming there will be unconditioned space above).

Help with insulation

Where are you located?

The vapor barrier goes on the warm side as said---- if in a cooling climate, to the outside;
