HELP with 1" stainless steel tile, can't cut!
 

The guy doing our backsplash is having a hard time cutting the 1" stainless steel tiles on a backing mesh. Number one because the metal is a you-know-what to cut, but more importantly because the steel layer is actually crimped around an underlying porcelain tile (not glued), so it pops off when you cut it.

Any ideas? He's using a diamond blade, a wet saw ... the pieces go flying everywhere under the blade. Any tips greatly appreciated!

Try a grinder with a "metal cutting" wheel. Lay the piece your cutting on a piece of soft rubber, styrofoam, or something similar to reduce vibration.
