Half wall help

I am getting ready to put the cap on a half wall I built. The rest of the wall up is textured concrete, it looks pretty good but it is not flat and it leaves gaps in some places up to 1\4", any suggestions on how to make this look better?? thanks
Tried attaching phots but it keeps saying failed.
I am using 1X6's to make a "shelf" on top of the half wall. The wood is straight and the wall goes in and out leaving gaps.

Half wall help

use a scribe or compass run along wall which will transfer imperfections onto board then cut or sand board to pencil line to match imperfections

Like a contour gauge? With all the needles that adjust to any shape with a simple push?
Sweet, yes.
