Granite counter best practice or sham?

Our contractor sealed the granite with some residue from the white pen used to mark the layout still on the stone. Doesn't come off with any cleaner.

They covered with a sharpie pen and more sealer.

Is this common practice / long term solution or shoddy contractor?

Granite counter best practice or sham?

It should have been cleaned 1st, then sealed
I'm not sure how easy it is to "unseal" & remove the white marker
But that's what I would want done

Get the guy back, his mistake, and he should be able to correct it easily.
