I am going to replace my wood basement window and would like some advice on the best way to go hd has the vinyl window that instruct you to build a wood frame and lowes has a vinyl window that states you can install into the bare concrete and i have not seen any of the original wood replacements avail does any one have a source for those thank you
I would attach the window to the cement using a composite shim for any adjustments. So if the HD window requires a wood frame go with something else. Be sure to fill any gaps with spray foam and be sure to paint the foam or cover it with trim so it is not exposed to sunlight.
lowes sells the basement window that can be installed into the concrete i like this idea so i can have a bigger window and more light in my basement
