Fireplace hearth stone and laminate

Hello,

I am finishing my basement and need to figure out what to do about the fireplace hearth stone. I have the fireplace installed in an alcove so it's flush with the wall. The flooring installers installed the laminate wood floor all the up to the fireplace. Should I just put the hearthstone on top of the laminate?

Thanks!
