We recently had to have our chimney capped because of leaking issues. Here was the thread where I explained in detail: Leaking Ceiling, Do I Need a Roofer?

This is not a problem because our fireplace is ventless, so we were told.

What I would like is for somebody to come and confirm that the fireplace is indeed ventless instead of the contractor telling me such. Also, I'd like to get a blower installed in the fireplace as well.

It looks like the insert could be equipped with a blower from the vents on it but I am not sure. Can this be done?

Who do you call for fireplace (gas) related questions?

Where can I get some decorative rocks for my fireplace? My friends have a gas log fire place with black-grey decorative rocks all around the unit but it was like that when they moved into that home. If I went looking for these, what are they called?

Pic doesn't come up on my comp., but if there is a fire in it , it needs a vent. Some fuels burn clean if the burner is properly adjusted, but even clean creates CO2 and water vapor, both of which should be vented. But if the bruner is not maintained and adjusted, those byproducts can be deadly.
