Finished Basement Help!

We want to start the whole process of finished our basement, but we are really struggling with the design.

I am attaching the floor plan of what is down there now - pretty much nothing...

We want to use the area to the left as a living space. On the right side, we want a bedroom (with the window), storage room (back right?) and bathroom. There is already designated plumbing for the bathroom in the back corner.

Can I get some layout help? We have come up with some ideas including one with a hall, but I kind of feel like a hallway is wasted space in a basement. We have already come up with a plan to access the storage through the bedroom or bathroom. Is that awkward?
