Fibreglass Panels are trim strips glued or nailed on?

I am installing fibreglass panels similiar to what you see in commercial bathrooms. They have PVC trim strips that go on the sides and top. What is the best way to secure these trim pieces? Do I need to caulk the trim pieces so water can't get in on the sides? Thanks.

I would think that 100% silicone would work just fine.
