Existing Granite Countertop, undermount sink?

I have an existing granite countertop in my home, with a normal top mount kitchen sink. Ideally, I would like to move to an undermount sink, but the granite under the sink is not finished. It's pretty rough cut - saw marks, etc. Has anyone heard of finishing the sink cut out for granite post-installation? I'm not looking to spend a fortune, but not sure if anyone has heard of this getting done. Thanks!
