Hello all, and I thank you in advance for any suggestions you can give me. (I am not very familiar with plumbing terms.) Please see attached photo of the space into which my husband & I would like to put an undermount tub. I've also attached a picture of the Kohler Parity tub we are considering buying. But before we do, I have some questions.
Here's the problem. When we had this house plumbed, we were going to build our own roman tub with a center drain, as you can see in the picture (ignore the chest on the left!). After a lot of research - bad idea. Well, now we are thinking of buying this undermount tub with an end drain. (We want a cast iron tub.) We can cut an access hole in the long wall from the closet behind, run the drain from the end hole to our center hole in the floor for the drain, but I think we will have to raise the tub 6" to install the plumbing from the drain and overflow to the center hole. So my question is, how does one go about raising an undermount tub? I can find adjustable feet that will raise it 3-1/2" but shouldn't it be raised more. Is this even a good idea??? Thank you!
