Electropolishing in the Bay Area, California?

Hi all,

I'm looking for a low cost electropolishing service in the bay area for 3 sections of 1.5" OD aluminum tubing I have. I contacted Bayshore Metals where I got the tubes from, and they told me they'd never even heard of electropolishing before. Does anyone have experience with a good electropolishing outfit in this area?

Thanks!

Can't say I've heard of it either. Not the same as electroPLATING?

Apparently not. It's supposed to be cheaper. I saw some search results and emailed 1 company, but haven't heard back yet.

Electropolishing is electroplating in reverse. Instead of adding material to the surface, surface material is electrochemically removed. Process conditions/chemicals are selected to favor removal of protrusions (rather than the entire surface uniformly) to result in a smooth, polished look.
