dura rock

It needs to be remove in the 'wet areas'---shower /tub surround---any where that is not subject to water --your green board can stay.

Unless you used 1/2" thick on the ceiling and joists are more than 12"oc. Or you installed any faced batts or poly under the drywall; http://publicecodes.cyberregs.com/ic...9_7_par016.htm

dura rock

the durock has to get waterproofed no matter what. but by going over it they would have to add another layer of green board so its in the same plane as the durock .. thus keeping hte wall flat
