Question

door-subfloor clearance

when framing a door opening and there is only subfloor and not finished flooring yet, should i plan that the bottom of the door frame touches the subfloor or should i provide for some nominal clearance that would be comparable to the finished flooring thickness (e.g. 1/2" or so) ?

i don't necessarily have to put the door in but i do need to put the horizontal top frame plate in order to hang drywall...

thanks

door-subfloor clearance

Frame should be on the floor.
The finished floor can be put down around it or the frame can be cut to accommodated height to the type of flooring.
Don't want to cut it now and be short for some reason when the floor is installed.
