Cutting Narrow Tile Pieces

I'm dealing with trying to patch an odd little area of tile where a bath wall meets the side of a bathtub. The original tile job was done many years ago, and the tile layout was badly planned, resulting in some very narrow pieces.

To do this little fix, I need to cut three very narrow pieces of tile (3/4" to 1/2" wide, and 4" long) out of some standard 4" square bath tile. What's the best way to do this without having such narrow tile sections break? I am thinking that I should use a Dremel or Rotozip to cut the sections out of the full tiles rather than trying to use tile nippers. The top one is going to have to curve slightly around the curved top edge of the bathtub.

You could never do it with tile nippers.

Your best bet is to take a coupla tiles to any tiling contractor and have him cut them on a wet diamond saw for 50 cents a cut. Even if he charged triple that, it would be well worth the savings in "hassle".

1/2 inch wide is no problem at all for a wet diamond saw.

Where I live, lotsa places that sell tile also install it, and they'll have a wet saw in the back where they'll cut tile for you.

To grind out the piece to fit around the tub, I'd use a Dremel with the drum sander bit.
