Cutting drywall
I am trying to cut thru drywall above a door entrance which has a solid piece of wood on top of it, I cannot use the drywall saw because the saw just goes thru the drywall and stops when it hits the wood, giving me no working gap for the sawing motion. Can anybody suggest a better way,

Appreciate all the help I can get,

I would use a razor/utility knife.:)

It may take six or eight passes to get all the way through but you will have a nice clean cut when done.:)

The old RotoZip will be a bit dusty but fast. Use the blue bits and set your depth.

You could attach a piece of wood to the bottom of a jigsaw to reduce the cutting depth. If you drill a piolet hole and use this method you can cut the drywall out and worry about the wood afterwards.

Thank you guys, I used a combination of all the methods, used a dremel upto some depth and used a utility knife to cut thru,
