Cutting Ceramic Tile

I have to trim 3/16 of an inch on my tiles. Impossible to cut with a hand type tile cutter. I believe I have no choice but to rent an electric tile cutter from home depot unless someone has any other suggestions.

You need a wet saw----if you only need a few---Lowes and the Depot have saws set up and will make a few cuts for a small fee---

I would just score it and nip it off. I did a bunch of these as the first course on a shower last week. You put in a level line to start with, and laid the second course, allowing for a full tile, and oftentimes there is some abnormality in the floor and you have to take some off the first course.

Better to take some off than have a 1/2 grout joint on the bottom.

you can nip it or if you have a grinder put a diamond blade on it and cut the tile with that, i cut all my tile that way. you can curves cut and odd shapes and shave a wee bit off the edges to.
