This is my first time here and making a post. I have a question about installing crown molding.
One I've never done this before...and I don't own a power compound miter saw. If anything I have a Stanley plastic miter box. I bought from HomeDepot.
Is there any information on how to do this crown molding project without a power miter saw....?
Any help would be apreciated, because something tells me there's alot of frustration and argueing comming soon.....lol
Borrow a miter saw from a friend or rent one, best advice I can give.
Buy or rent one is the best advice I can give. There are several books and one or two tutorials on the Internet for installing crown. Its not an easy task and is generally considered to be a two person task.
It is as Double A wrote...word for word.
Power Miter and (Since you have never done it before) BUY A BOOK.
Crown molding is difficult for a first timer. One clue: You have to cut it:
"Upside down and reversed".......
Get a good book, read up and then Purchase some scrap inexpensive crown molding to do some practice runs with a compound power miter saw.
Option #2) ....become very good friends with an experienced carpenter that likes free beer....while he helps you.....
- my 2 cents.
