Question

Create half wall for loft master bedroom

I have a 10x10 wall in the master which I would like to open up to a half wall. It would overlook the living room. There are 3 windows on the adjacent wall. I could "mirror" those to keep the sound issue at bay, but am looking for some design ideas which will address the sound issue, while opening up the space.

If someone can tell me how to upload the photos I will be glad to do so. This site will not accept for the attachment.

If you remove 1/2 of the wall there's nothing you can do to lower the sound.
You just took away 1/2 of what's stoping the sound tranmistion now.
I must be missing something.
What is it your trying to gain by doing this?

Thank you for the response. I know how to upload the photo, however it appears to be too large. I will re-size and submit. The purpose of the half wall is to visually enlarge the small space. I realize the sound barrier will be removed and am considering options such as installing 3 rectangular windows similar to those on the adjacent wall. My question is, what are the alternatives to windows to buffer sound? Heavy draperies, shutters, etc.

It should resize automatically when you upload. If not you can also upload to a photo hosting site as most are free.
As to your issue, you could open the wall completely and install a pair of French doors instead. almost like a faux balcony. A thin metal railing would installed right outside the doors to prevent falls or they could be built not to open. Your choice. I can't find a picture of what it looks like right now, but I see it periodically on various home improvement shows. I'm sure a few searches should show you what it looks like.

EDIT: posted from phone, autocorrect made some really weird "corrections".

Thanks! I have many photos of "window" ideas. Will most likely take that route.
I appreciate the suggestions.
