Corner shower - tile dimension question

I'm installing a 42" x 42" neo angle shower pan. Will tile the walls.

Do you think my tile should be 42" from corner of shower, or should I go further beyond the 42" marker? and why?

I think 42" would be cleaner since the pan is that width, but I saw a few pics online that show the tile going about 4 inches beyond that. Thoughts?

How far beyond the door or edge of the pan you go is up to you---
I prefer to extend the tile 3 to 4 inches past the shower wall, but that is just a personal preference---

Well beyond. Cover the area behind around the toilet (on one side) and the wall behind the sink (on other side) ... but at least a couple of inches past the enclosure frame and down to the floor.

Yeah, I thought I should extend it alittle. I'm not installing a glass door but rather a rounded shower curtain.

Also, the Kohler instructions are really vague. Some say to drill through the base to the studs but others say DONT. The others say to use fender washers to hold the base to the stud. Ideas?
