Copper Kitchen Sink
Remodelling our kitchen ... I like a black porcelin sink ... but the wife has decided a copper sink is necessary. I think its a BAD idea. Not to mention they are all too tinny, just like a stainless, but even more tough to keep looking nice. Like the nice dark patina, I expect, will be very succeptable to "erasing" with any acidic chemicals or foodstuffs dripped or spilled (Ketchup, pickle juice, etc) and then look stupid with shiny copper strekrs and spots in the patina, not to mention hard to keep clean (like NO scouring, etc.)

Any experience or comments?

I don't like polished stainless appliances for the same reason.

Cobber is a soft metal and will show scratches every time it's clean, and will develop a pitina.
Black will show every speck of dirt and water mark.
I know I have one and regret it.

For an accessory sink... like at a wet bar? OK
For the main kitchen sink you need TOUGH.

Stainless or enamel over cast (or maybe soapstone)

Have you thought of artisan concrete counters with or without integrated sinks? Infinite colors. Add staining or epoxy for added impact.? Cost comparable to stone.
