From Contemporary to Contemporary/traditional

Hello all -- my husband and I just recently purchased a home that we are completley renovating (adding new roof, updated bathrooms etc..). The style is very contemporary but I like more of a traditional look and the furniture we already have is also traditional. I am wondering if there is anything we can do to make it look a little more traditional. We are willing to spend the money so long as it is not completley exuberant.

Thanks so much for your help!!

The furniture in the pictures is not ours.

Try curtains or such. That house is not meant for traditional trims. I'd say mix the furniture and the house and revel in the agnosticism.

I would try using classic styles of flooring such as Marble, Limestone or Travertine to give this beautiful home a classic appeal, the steps I see are modern as well, even painting the stairwell, or replacing the steps would give this space a completely different look.
