closet door height?

My opening for the closet door is 78" high. It is all finished. I have wood floors. What height do i need to cut the closet to? I'm thinking 76"? One inch gap at top and bottom? Anyone?

When you say ," cut the closet " , do you mean the closet door ? If so , you should look at the instructions for the door hardware .

So far as the bottom goes it should be 5/8" from bottom of door to your finished floor. This would be for venting. 1" on bottom would stick out like a "sore thumb."

Just my two cents, rredogg

most closet doors are the same height as any other door unless their bifolds.

1/2" gap is fine for under teh door. 1/8 at teh top of the door

Install the top track and then measure----I never trust the instructions completely---top track and clearance is likely 3/4 inch, but use a ruler and verify for yourself.
