ceiling help

I recently opened a small deli near the train station in Orlando Fl. In our 1st two months almost all our equipment has failed and now the ceiling gave way. I need to fix or remove it in replace of something better. Cost is a huge issue. I am very low on cash and need this done ASAP.

I have an idea to remove the tile grid ceiling completely and paint everything showing black and hang industrial style lighting for a nice look which will not cost much at all. But i am unsure of the codes here. Our AC ducting is the soft round type not the square sheet metal type. Does this matter?

Any other ceiling ideas are welcomed. As well as all tips and codes i should be aware of.

Why not just call the local building inspector and or the health dept. to find out what you can do?

Because that is costly. With all the bad luck and being brand new I do not have the capitol to pay for it. I need to do this with as little cash as possible. But still not be an eye sore or violate codes.

not just building codes to worry about but health regulations as well. you could spend what money you have along with your time and then find out it has to be removed because it fails with the health department.

drop a dime and give them a call ....
