carsiding ceiling


Is it going to work to nail T&G carsiding to a plaster cieling?

Keep in mind some older ceiling joists spans were only strong enough for the 8# per sq.ft. plaster & lath weight without adding more. Check the span: http://www.awc.org/calculators/span/...orizontal+Span

I'd do both if it were mine. Make sure your nails/screws are proper length. I would think an inch into the framing members, minimum, would be good.
