Carpet dug up by cat, cracked tile

My husband and I bought a flipped house that wasn't 'flipped' so well. We are planning to gut our 6 x (almost) 5 bathroom when we get our cars paid off in less than 2 years, but I am so sick of looking at the cracked tile and messed up carpet. Do you have any suggestions?

This is where my cat digs at the bathroom door when I am in there with the door closed. Sometimes I forget to let her in with me, and little by little, she's torn the carpet to shreds. Any ideas?

This is tile that outlines my tub/shower area. Is there anything I can do with the uneven black tile to cover it up or make it look better? It will all be ripped out in a couple years, I just want some way to make it look a little more presentable until then.

My husband and I are young and don't have much DIY experience, but we are willing to try almost anything ourselves. We just want fixes that will be cheap and last for the next 18-24 months.

Thanks!
Abby

A wide tile to carpet transition strip may be able to cover this torn edge on the carpet. The cracked tiles... just pry them off and replace them. you can get premixed tile adhesive/grout that will work fine for a small temporary patch like this.
