my "assistant" and I are remodeling yet another bathroom, this time the "guest bathroom". we'd like to put back the "vanity top" that we removed rather than buy a new one. (HD has some good ones but they're around $300 for a 4' one) only trouble is,the old one has a stain that's been there forever. anyone know of some "stain remover" for "fake" marble? (well,it's some sort of composite material anyway)
The "forever" aspect of the stain might requite a mechanical abrasion to remove it.
I've heard of a poltice solution of fresh stains where the substance is drawn out of the substrate into the mixture.
I don't remember what was in this poltice. Maybe you can find out about it online or another poster.
Do you know what made the stain?
what youve got is cultured marble and when it stains it can be difficult to remove. if bleach wont work I think there are some chemical solutions much like polishing compound for cars that might do the trick. run a search on removing stains from cultured marble good luck
