Bathroom remodel-general
Got upset with my bathroom the other day- next thing I knew I was wielding a sledgehammer and now have it down to the studs and floor joists. This is my first total remodel and have a few questions.
The floor is down to the joists. I have a little surface water damage in a couple of spots. How much is enough to replace the joist? Do I lay a plywood subfloor before the cement backerboard on the floor? What do I put under the new vanity? I have on elect outlet and one plumbing outlet but new vanity has two sinks and I want two elect outlets. Can I split one into two, plumbingly and electrically speaking? Last question- I'm doing everything but building new shower and can't get anyone out to do that yet..can I do the rest of the room to within a reasonable distance of the new shower and what kind of problems does this cause re: the subfloor ending too soon? Will the new area be weak since it wasn't all put down the same time? Thanks everyone- hoping to start construction tonight so your capable answers are greatly appreciated. Shari Savage |

Hey Kathy, this is a very old post, so if you need some info, maybe elaborate on what you're doing.
What are you doing and how far along are you? |
