Bath Addition Question

We are adding a bathroom to our house and I am looking for some opinions. We live in an old (30's) Tri-Level and the only areas that are cost feasable to add a bath are the basement and a converted attached garage. The basement would require a pump for the sewage and alot more plumbing work and had the same ceiling height delemma we have now.

The ceilings in the converted garage are 6'9" and was wondering if we should add a shower head to the bath we are adding or just keep it as a bath only. If we were to make it into a shower I would most likely either tile the ceiling over it or use a water resistant drywall or cement board and paint. Is it worth the extra costs and work involved to make it a shower as well or because of the height of the ceilings just to keep it as a bath. I appreciate any and all opinions. Thanks

Bath Addition Question

you need to consider what is needed by your family and by the house. How many baths do you have? Do you need another full bath or is a 1 1/2 bath enough for your use and for adding value to the home. The same criteria needs to be applied as to where you place this bath. If needed for general use is the traffic flow and location proper. If as a guest bath same questions apply.
