Basement Remodeling

So last weekend we were fixing our water pressure in our 1950's bunglow and found the galvanized pipes are going to need replaced. We would like to us the PEX plumbing system and we also found once we tore down the ceiling made of scrap wood and drywall from the previous owners that we need to rewire the basement.

So the question we have is do we paint the floor joists or put in a drop ceiling. We want to put in can lights in the ceiling. I like the openness of the exposed floor joists and part of the basement was already refinished with painted joists.

What are your thoughts?

That can be done very effectively. I've seen some nice pictures by Chris Wright on Remodelcrazy.com.

Might be worth a look. If you can't locate the pictures just ask.---Mike---
