My basement is framed and I'm having an electrician come later this week for the rough electrical work. Can anyone just confirm the order of work for me. Just want to know I'm doing this in correct order
Drywall Taping and mudding
Painting walls and ceiling
Install baseboard and trim.
--plumping and electrical rough
Hard flooring--tile or other--sheet goods/laminate
All trim work---doors--window jamb extensions--cabinet work(if any)
Casing /base molding
Caulk---putty---touch up drywall---final paint--two coats of good paint
Electrical switches/outlets---light fixtures----hand rails---
Thanks. I was having problems finding this on google.
You want to avoid installing things that could be in the way or damaged by the upcoming work----
A common mistake is to install the switches and outlets before the drywall and paint---the tabs in the outlets are in the way of the drywall---and must be broken off in order to get the drywall in place---
If doors are installed before the flooring---the jambs need to be cut in place in order to slip the flooring under them---
Every time a mistake like that is made--time is wasted--and the possibility of damaging a finished product increases.
