Hi folks, I'm just about prepped to start this project. This is a full-height basement, not a walk-out. Block walls, full drip-edge slab. It's been recommended that I install the vapor barrier against the block wall with the bottom tucked into the drip edge. That makes sense.
On the two walls that carry the main waste, I plan on framing about a foot way from the wall to hide the main waste obviously, and also the pump-out box in the bathroom area. I was going to frame in metal, but reading here indicates a bit more difficulty to attach battens in the areas where I'll be framing away from wall. So would the recommendation be to simply frame out in lumber?
The remaining wall areas have no mechanical and I can frame against the exterior wall.
So, faced with this type of project, would it simply make sense to frame completely in lumber?
