Basement flood.. Get to start over..

Well, put this under that "damnit" file…..

My sump pump failed last weekend, and I had my basement flood..

So, I had a company come in and gut everything and take it all away. Currently, the basement is framed with 2x2's. I am considering ripping those out and putting 2x4's inter place to get more insulation in. Is that something that is worth doing, or is it overkill?

Also, check out the half-assness of the previous owner.. I have a 2ft crawl space behind one of my walls. I knew it was there, but I am glad I can get rid of it and make it right….

Any opinions or advice for the project in general? Anything I should definitely NOT do? Chime in with your knowledge and teach me the ways!

Thanks guys!
Matt
