Anyone have an installer recommendation in Cincinnati?

I'm going to be getting vinyl siding and windows very soon. Anyone have any recommendations? I'll be putting a shake style siding (subtle not overly wood looking) on the front, but going with the standard siding on the sides and back. I'll also be replacing the garage door with something fancy (i.e. barn door like, not your typical cheap door) so if you know someone to contact let me know.

Thanks.

Which side of town are you on?

East side of town (Anderson Twp. area)

I have another question regarding siding. Do you prefer to install vinyl siding over the existing siding, or tear off the existing? The current siding is wood, or some sort of pressed/fiber board about 10" in width. Also, are you familiar with the Norandex Polar Wall Plus siding? It has the insulation laminated (form fitted) to the vinyl siding.

Depends on the condition of the existing siding. If there is no water damage inside or out, and the siding is otherwise solid, going overtop of it is better in my opinion. Not only do you save on the tear-out, but you're getting that much more insulation. Window and door work can sometimes give you some trouble, but not usually too bad.

I'm familiar with other brands of siding that have the insulation attached in the same way. I have a friend that goes as far as Cinnci, I'll ask him if he's interested.

I have a phone number of someone in the 812 area code. Looks like that's Indiana. His first name's Rob (just in case you're in IN and know a Rob). They did some work for my neighbor, and I'll probably be giving him a call for a bid. With gas prices, I jokingly told my neighbor that a bid from him will probably be 15k with 5k of that being gas. :D

OK, he's game. He's done a lot of work down there anyway and says windows have slowed down a bit with winter setting in. His number is 937-266-8308. Just tell him Ken sent you.
