Advice for removing stripped off screw head from cabinet face.

Need to remove kitchen cabinet to install new pipes behind the wall. When installing cabinets, a screw head stripped off in the hickory face of the cabinet I need to remove. It's too deep to find the center of the screw shaft to use a grabbit screw extractor. As far as I can tell, my only option is to try and grind away the rest of the screw somehow. Is there a drill bit made for such a purpose, if so what is it called and where would I find it (didn't see such a beast in big box hardware stores)?

If not the grabbit screw extractor or trying to bore the remaining screw away with some sort of monster drill bit, is their another method?

Do you mean the screw on the inside (3/4" side) of the face frame that secures one cabinet to another? Is that the one that's stripped?

Yes, not in the back connecting the cabinet to the wall, but in the front connecting cabinet face to cabinet face through the sides of two cabinet faces—screw is parallel to closed cabinet doors.

You can try drilling through just the head with a bit just a hair larger than the diameter of the threaded shaft. Try a titanium drill bit. Then one of the hollow screw extractors should work to fit over the shaft and drill out the wood around it.

i have an idea. but i would need to see a pic, from the inside of cabinet. to see if it would work. if it did work, it would be pretty easy.

Advice for removing stripped off screw head from cabinet face.

Just a followup in case anyone was interested. I ended up drilling through the side of faces for each cabinet to the screw with a bit slightly larger than the the head of the screw. I started with a tiny drill bit to make a pilot hole, and progressively drilled threw with larger bits to avoid tearing out the faces.

I then drilled around the screw with a very small bit at 12, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 o'cock. Then used very small drill bit as a saw to "connect the dots." Then I just tapped the screw using an old drill bit to push the screw out (actually, 3 stripped screws).
