Advice on improving curb appeal

Interested in what others might think of how to improve curb appeal of this currently ugly house... Planning upgrading the siding (advice on what to do there?!) and will be painting the trim around the bay window. Don't want to spend a lot of money, but willing to invest where it will pay off. I feel more attention needs to be brought to the front door, but not sure how...

Would be interested in hearing others' opinions- both small fixes and extreme changes. Thanks in advance!!

Looks like 4 differant sized windows that area at differant heights, that throws off the whole front of the building.
That middle roof line looks really bad.

I agree... it is just an odd looking home in general. I do not own the home at this time, have just been seriously considering pulling the trigger because I do feel it has potential and the price is right. The more I look at it though, the more skeptical I am. Probably a sign to just move on :)

Cedar siding would help and make the soffit and facia larger--they look weak---needs detail work--

looks like a lady with no eyebrows----a high forehead and short bangs---

Wow Mike, You got all that from a picture. I'd like to see the world through your eyes !!

I agree though, that the soffit and facia need to be bigger. Also the garage should be the same colour as the rest of the house. Right now it just screams garage.

The front door should be the thing to POP not the garage.

Siding (and trim), Windows, and doors will be your biggest curb appeal improvers from the street.

A roof is also a great bump to the curb appeal but it is tough to justify tearing off a good roof for a "prettier" one.

When I see a home with an odd ball look like that one the first thing I think is was a DIY build. To me it looks like it started out as a shed style roof building in the center and was added onto later on both ends to make it bigger.
Keep in mind all I have is a picture to go by, but that's what I'd be thinking as I drove in the driveway.
It's things like the way the roof was built over the bay window that make it look even more DIY.
