Adding 1' to the front of my garage

Going to need a whole lot more info.
First question is why?
Going to be a huge job for that little gain in room.

Front? New footers and concrete stem wall--new wall framing and siding, including the header for the door---additionally --one more roof truss --new gutters--roofing -light wiring---remove and reinstall the garage door---

It would be easier and cheaper to move out the back wall .if that option exists--no door--header--lights--and driveway repair involved in the back---

figure two carpenters for 3 days----perhaps four---plus the concrete work--and materials.

A saw a garage once that had what looked like a long tube sticking out the back side of the garage.
The DIY had built it so the mast on his sail boat would fit while laying flat on the deck of the boat.

Not sure of the roof. We are looking to buy a newer bigger home, and everything we've seen has 19' or 20' deep garages. Our boat is 21' with the swim deck removed, and mooring the boat is too expensive. Outside in the elements is also not an option. Sounds like we need to keep looking, or find a house that we can expand through the back.

Or just have one built.
Considered a simple steel car port?

Boat trailers are available with hinged, folding tow thing-a-ma-jigs---

If your trailer tongue was not in the measurement--would it fit?

Come on. You know that it is better if you just use old blankets, and attach ropes to trees or the utility wires in front of the house.

The tongue on our boat trailer does swing in. We are just going to have to keep looking.

Easier to just store it at a local Marina, or secured Storage facility. Better then using the garage for the boat.

All boat owners in my area, just park them next to their garage if there is room, or in front of the garage to keep from using it as a garage. Go with the storage facility or Marina. Cheaper in the long run, and keeps the local neighborhood kids and critters off of it.
