I am going to put 3/8" sheetrock over some existing drywall which I could not successfully remove wallpaper from even with chemicals or steamers.
My question is how to approach the joints at the ceiling and at the door frames. The ceiling has a sort of rolled texture, not smooth, so just taping the joint will not be that easy. I figured a quick crown to cover it up.
Any other better suggestions in the ceiling area ?
Also where the 3/8" sheetrock meets the door frames. I was just going to plane out some 3/8" wood strips and attach it to the door edge and flush it with the drywall rather than lose the profile of the door trim reduced by 3/8".
Anyone else have better suggestions ?
Thanks.
