Is 2cm granite not worth it?

I see that there are two options. 2cm or 3 cm. I want to say that I want the 3cm but I am being offered the 2cm.

Pros? cons?

personal preference, but I like the look of a thick slab of solid rock, whether it be granite or something else.

It was like $300 more but I talked the contractor to $150 more. I know I did the right thing and in the end I will be happier.
