2 layers of wood underlayment ?

I have an addition on my house that i need to add wood underlayment to, the only problem is that this wood will make the floor in the addition taller by the thickness of the underlayment.

so what i'm trying to say is the floors are the same height right now, i would like to add underlayment to the addition and an extra layer to the adjoining room (to maintain same floor height) which would give the adjoing room 2 layers of wood underlayment.

do you think this is acceptable ?

Why does the addition need underlaymant? What's on the floor now?
What do you plan on laying for floors?

Floors with slightly different heights are not uncommon after remodeling jobs. You can purchase a transition strip to bridge the two floors. Just google "transition strip".
