wood threshold replace

I have a wood threshold ext. door, need to replace rotten, on the outside there is grout n tile that butts up against threshold outside, inside is wood flooring, its sandwiched in there, is there away to put new threshold in without removing grout or tile,, do the side jambs sit on top of threshold, I think so, whats the easiest solution, the grout line is like 3/4'' wide x 1/2'' thick I think

Need to post a picture of what you have.
Most thresholds are attached from the bottom up.

wood threshold replace

What is the door made of? If it's wood--then yes the old thresh can be removed-(

you might want a multi-tool or saws all---cut out as much as you can--the remaining parts need a sharp chisle and a hammer---

then cut a filler out of PVc boars or plastic deck board----when that's flat to the exterior tile--
Carefully fit a new aluminum adjustable thresh hold to fit---

then trim the door----with the cut slightly beveled to give you a good seal.

It came be done---but the job is fairly advanced work---so plan on using your brain a lot---
