wood siding for a shed


i wanna side my 11x9 shed with horizontal wood planks. was wondering what the most optimal material should be (price vs. looks).

Assuming you have sheathing on it for bracing, I would suggest spruce clapboard. Cheap and cheerful for a shed

Sheathing as in 1/2" plywood? Certainly, that's an option but was pondering to skip it if siding vertical planks only would provide enough support (i don't care too much about insulation though I'd probably put that wrapping sheet that says "Tyvac" if I went that route - what is that sheeting called, BTW?).

7/16 OSB is cheaper than plywood. If you don't use it, you'll need bracing on the corners or your shed will lean in the breeze!
Housewrap is the generic term. If you use anything, just use 15# felt on a shed
