Default Wood decking over concrete stoop?

I have a small concrete stoop in front of my house. It's ugly, chipped, and has chunks of outdoor carpet falling off. Originally I was going to clean and resurface the concrete, but someone suggested placing wood decking over top of it and I thought that might look nice and unique. Anyone done this before? If so, can you post pics?

I did an internet search on it and found a video from "This Old House" but they don't show the finished product until the last 0.0005 seconds of the clip, so I couldn't get a good feel of how it looks when it's done.

Hasn't anyone done this? Or seen it done? If I can get a response and it saves just one life, then it will be worth it...

I have a porch over a little stoop in front of my house. You wouldn't know the stoop was there except the dumbass last owner didn't do it that good and a side of a board or two is raised up.
