Wine Rack Material

Hi,
I'm about to build a custom wine rack cabinet that will sit in between a wall cabinet and cover panel (for the refrigerator). My question is, what kind of material would be best to use? I was thinking MDF but not really sure of the pros and cons. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch!

Marcus

Use like 1/2" oak veneered plywood, with 1/2"x1/8" oak cap for the leading edges (like screen molding).

I agree, ply is the way to go.. If its not that big solid 1x material will work too.
